Mica Heins-Spratt is a vital force behind Kahu Animal Hospital, where she serves as Project Manager and Chief of Staff. Inspired by Manny -- the soul dog who has walked beside her as her biggest protector and source of joy over the past 10 years -- she has built a deep appreciation for the gift that is the almost indescribable bond we share with our pets.

With a varied background in design, event planning, tech, finance, administration and vet medicine, Mica joined Kahu in its early stages to support Dr. Mark Dilworth and Dr. Suzy Lyons in building the foundation of a veterinary clinic created with the belief that all creatures deserve care.

One of Mica's favourite storybooks from her childhood is of a little girl whose grandfather reminds her that while she may want to travel the world and grow old by the sea, just like him, there is a third thing she must do -- something to make the world more beautiful. She has brought this ethos to her work as every detail has mattered in creating the best environment possible for our pets.

 

As Kahu's doors open, Mica is honoured to continue her career with Kahu as we all try to make the world more beautiful for our beloved animals and those who care for them.​​
